A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to email@example.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.
